Selfies Overloaded
On the camera that was meant to freeze a moment and ended up stealing it.
We are living in the age of technology.Technologies which has made travel lot easier to navigate, to connect with people in our home, to take up a freelance job and lot more.But at the same time, it started to ruin the way we experience things.There was a time when pictures are taken to freeze the moment.But a lot has changed now.The arrival of high-resolution camera phones made people over obsessed with selfies and we started going to new places not to experience the place but to take selfies.I wanted to pen down this post for a long time now and here I am.During last few months of my college days, me with my friends planned to visit Mahabalipuram a town in Kancheepuram district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu which is famous for rock – cut caves, temples made from a single rock, temples and strives of different structures, and bas-reliefs which are so artistic and sheer creativity. Mamallapuram is referred as an ‘open-air museum.We spent almost a whole day there and it came to my senses only after a week when I tried to collect every picture we took and guess what we did the whole day there… Yess!! we took selfies… tons and tons of selfies.There are lots of things happening around us and we are obsessed over taking pictures maybe we should stop taking more pictures and concentrate on living in the moment.We still had lots of fun that day when spent some time in white sandy beach over there and here are some of the pics from the past.
