Stepping into the Unknown

The night-before fear, and the first step of a long journey anyway.

Finally, I started my long journey towards the “unknown“. I said “unknown” because I don’t know what waits for me down the line. That’s the curiosity which drives me crazy.

The day before leaving to ooty, it’s just a mechanism that happens automatically, the fear kicks in and some of the recurring thoughts I have are,

Why am I doing this?

Why am I leaving?

Am I making the right decision?

Am I going to regret this choice?

It’s not easier to answer these questions because I have no idea what future will bring (still I don’t have any answer to these question even though I finished my trip successfully).

Fortunately, I have the best friends who encourage me for my efforts even though they don’t want me to take this trip as the weather was so bad at that time.

It’s easier to stick to what we are comfortable with, even if we don’t like it, hoping that it will become better.

It’s much harder to take the unknown path than to keep walking in the same path in your life.

At first, I am scared because this was my first solo trip to anywhere and it was raining heavily all over Tamilnadu  and another thing , right from my childhood if I plan anything for too much I end up dropping it !! This made me question myself “am I going to drop this one too? “

So I made up my mind whatever can happen am going for these trip!! Well, that may seem easy but not as much!

Once I started my journey, the fear changes into curiosity and I begin to feel excited about this new journey.

The trip to Ooty was the best experience I ever had, lost my way in the forest, searching for my own way, regretting my decision for staying in tent at night “that was the maddest decision I ever made”!! I might not wake up in the morning if I continued to stay in that tent (packed all my things in hurry at 8 p.m inside the forest and walked to nearby area to find lodge) it was freezing out there at night and am not prepared for that, short of money, my legs hurt like hell (I walked around 20 km that too “steeps” in two days), frightened by a locale as he said there would be a cheetah roaming inside the forest at night.

The second day of my trip went well as I got three new friends to accompany me for sightseeing the rest of the area. Thank you guys!!!

At this point, I know it wasn’t a matter of making the right or wrong choice, but to just simply take that step forward into the unknown and let go of fears.

That voice in my head lost its powers now. I know that all I have to do is keep walking forward.

So when you hear that voice in your head trying to stop you from doing a brave choice in your life, have the courage to take that step forward.

There is no safer way to be unhappy than choosing to have a safe life.

And it’s only two days since I completed my first trip, my mind already started to plan for the next one😉
